IDEA magazine, 28 October 2026 issue (p. 52): a feature on Bellanova Cosmetics, with an interview with Paolo Baratti, Sole Director and CEO, and Donatella Pistagna, Sales Manager for Italy and abroad.

The 28 October 2026 issue of IDEA magazine (p. 52) features a story dedicated to Bellanova Cosmetics

From a friendship to a business venture

The story of Bellanova Cosmetics begins with a solid friendship and mutual trust: a phrase spoken almost jokingly one evening in Nuremberg, «You and I will do something together sooner or later». In February 2026 it became reality with the founding of the company, based in Cherasco (CN).

Private label and a brand of its own

The heart of the business is private label: the development and production of cosmetics under the client's own brand. Alongside this, the company wanted a brand that would represent it directly. This is how Camalù was born, an anagram of the Italian word for “snail” (lumaca), with a graphic identity in white and laminated silver.

The line includes seven products: a fluid body cream, a face cream, a cleansing face gel, a moisturizing and restructuring serum, a pure spray serum, an eye and lip contour serum, and a foot cream. The official launch took place on 19 September in Alba.

Nature and research

Snail slime is the starting point, but not the only ingredient. Bellanova Cosmetics works with plant extracts obtained through a patented process, aiming for the highest possible naturalness indexes. Formulas featuring wine, honey, olive oil, hazelnut and lavender have already been developed. Oil and snail slime have also been combined, a technically complex pairing made possible by liposomal slime. An important contribution comes from the collaboration with the University of Calabria. A dedicated line for small and medium-sized pets is also under development.

Where to find Camalù

Camalù is distributed in selected beauty boutiques, with a single point of sale per city: a partner who believes in the quality of the product and knows how to explain its characteristics. Among the first are Franco Masamè in Alba, Camalù's godfather, and Profumeria Laura in Bra.

Looking ahead

«We want to develop a 360-degree business, starting from the excellent raw materials that the agricultural world is able to offer and turning them into original cosmetic lines.» Research, customization and a bond with the local area remain the guiding principles for the next steps.
