Gusta Cherasco 2026

Gusta Cherasco 2026: the programme: talks, workshops, cultural and food and wine events. Cherasco, historic centre, 24–26 October

Description

From Saturday 24 to Monday 26 October 2026, Cherasco takes centre stage once again with the sixth edition of Gusta Cherasco – The Wine and Food Square, an event organised by Cherasco Town Council and the Cherasco Eventi Association, dedicated to promoting the region’s food and wine traditions.

The 2026 edition was officially launched on Wednesday 7 October at the Langhe Monferrato Roero Tourist Board in Alba.

For three days, the town’s historic centre will host events dedicated to flavour, culture, sustainability and an appreciation of local produce, with the Helix Aspersa snail – Cherasco’s gastronomic symbol – taking centre stage at the 2026 edition.

‘Gusta Cherasco aims to be a three-day event where visitors can taste, discover and experience the town, showcasing our producers and the region’s finest products, whilst always keeping a close eye on sustainability, naturalness and quality. – says Deputy Mayor Umberto Ferrondi – It is an event with a strong focus on tourism, as it links Cherasco’s food and wine heritage with its artistic and cultural heritage, creating a genuine tourist attraction capable of telling the city’s story and helping visitors discover it. In this edition, Gusta Cherasco aims to offer a new perspective on the town through all the senses: taste, of course, but also smell and sight, to experience Cherasco in an authentic and engaging way, discovering its finest produce, its beauty and its traditions’.

‘Historically, Cherasco has been one of the most active municipalities in the ATL area when it comes to organising events, not just food and wine-related ones. – said Mariano Rabino, president of the Langhe Monferrato Roero Tourism Board - One need only think of the Antiques Markets, amongst the best known in northern Italy, the art exhibitions, the cultural events and, last but not least, the events linked to outdoor itineraries. “Our congratulations go to the organisers of Gusta Cherasco, whom we had the pleasure of hosting at our headquarters in Alba, for choosing to showcase Cherasco’s specialities – such as snails and land snails – alongside the traditional products of Langhe Monferrato Roero and the province of Cuneo, and for creating a programme of events designed to promote local produce.”

The programme for Saturday 24, Sunday 25 and Monday 26 October 2026

The official opening is scheduled for Saturday 24 October at 10.30 am at the Church of San Gregorio. Over the weekend, the outdoor area in front of the Town Hall will host stalls showcasing the region’s finest produce, the Food Districts, the Earth Markets and local businesses, whilst on Sunday 25 October, from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm, Via Vittorio Emanuele will also host the Craft Market. The Gusta Cherasco programme gets underway on the afternoon of Saturday 24 October. At 1.30 pm, in the Council Chamber, there will be a round-table discussion entitled “The Future of the Piedmontese Cattle Breed”, a forum for discussion with industry experts focusing on the prospects and promotion of one of the iconic breeds of Piedmontese livestock farming.

At 4.00 pm, at the Church of San Gregorio, the focus will shift to snail farming with the Snail Farming Conference organised by the Italian Confederation of Snail Farmers.

At 18.00, under the Mantica Arcades, there will be an event dedicated to food pairings and the culture of taste with the workshop “Cigars, Rum and Chocolate”, available by booking at a cost of €10.00.

The day on Sunday 25 October will continue with a packed programme of in-depth events. At 9.30 am at San Gregorio, the Snail Farming Conference organised by the Italian Confederation of Snail Farmers will return, whilst from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm at the Auditorium there will be a conference dedicated to cosmetics made from snail slime, exploring an area in which snail farming products are now finding new opportunities for promotion.

In the afternoon, at 16.30, it will be the turn of “Cheesebimbi – from Milk to Cheese”, a children’s workshop led by Renato Maunero, designed to introduce young children to rural culture and the processing of milk through a practical and engaging experience. The activity requires booking in advance and costs €3.00. Finally, at 6.00 pm, there will be a new event dedicated to the region’s finest products with the workshop on Vermouth, Marenotto di Marene, Basin di Bene Vagienna and Cugna’ di Narzole, led by Andrea Balestrini.

Alongside the events in the historic centre, Gusta Cherasco also offers experiences designed to help visitors discover the local area through itineraries that combine landscape, culture and food and wine. These include Eco-sustainable Tourism, a tour by mini-car at a cost of €20.00, with a single tour running from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday, departing from the Cherasco Tourist Office. The star attraction of the event will, of course, be the Palachiocciola, where snail-based lunches and dinners will be served. Cultural events and side programmes

The Gusta Cherasco weekend will also be enriched by a varied programme of cultural initiatives and events showcasing the town, allowing visitors to combine their discovery of local flavours with an exploration of Cherasco’s history, art and traditions. As part of the event, the City’s Twinning Festival will also take place, offering an opportunity to meet and share experiences with delegations from the twinned towns: Villars-sur-Var in France, Möckmühl in Germany, Piliscsaba in Hungary, Aksakovo in Bulgaria and Cefa in Romania, on Saturday 24 October at 6.00 pm in the Council Chamber. This is an opportunity to renew the bonds of friendship and collaboration that have united Cherasco with various European towns over the years.

On Sunday 25 October at 4.30 pm, the final Walking Tour of the year is also scheduled, entitled “Cherasco Noir: symbolism and mystery”, a guided tour designed for those who love to look beyond the surface and immerse themselves in untold stories. The route offers an evocative stroll through hidden corners, esoteric symbols and details of the town just waiting to be interpreted. Booking is required via the Visit LMR – Esperienze website, and the meeting point is at the Cherasco Tourist Office, at 79 Via Vittorio Emanuele.

The town’s artistic heritage will be further enhanced by the exhibitions hosted in its historic buildings, with free admission. At Palazzo Salmatoris, visitors can view the exhibition “…

and they all lived happily ever after” by Silvia Levenson, open until 10 January, on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm, and on Thursdays and Fridays from 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm, with free admission.

At the Church of San Martino, visitors can view the exhibition dedicated to St John Henry Newman (1801–1890), an English theologian and priest who converted to Catholicism in 1845 and was appointed a cardinal by Pope Leo XIII in 1879. Canonised in 2019 by Pope Francis, Newman was proclaimed a Doctor of the Church in 2025 by Pope Leo XIV. The exhibition will run until 11 October on Saturdays and Sundays from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm and from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm.

At Palazzo Gotti di Salerano, visitors can also explore the “Giovanni Battista Adriani” Civic Museum, which houses precious archaeological finds and artefacts relating to Savoyard and local history. The museum will be open on Sundays and public holidays from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm, with free admission.

Rounding off the cultural offering is the Museum of Magic, one of the town’s most original attractions, featuring scenically designed themed rooms and a theatre dedicated to magic shows. An experience designed for young and old alike, taking visitors on a journey of the imagination to discover a fairy-tale and surprising universe.
